A famous makeup artist, whose YouTube tutorials collect millions of views, and Creative Director of beauty brand Lancôme, Lisa Eldridge, has created a jewelry collection. To begin with, she chose gemstone rings.
The new line was motivated by a journalist’s post on Reddit: “I think my favorite thing about her videos is the soft clinking noises her rings make. Sooo soothing.” And, rather, by its consequences — third-party companies started producing "Lisa’s rings."
“When I noticed companies were selling rings using my name, that was the moment I was like, ‘This is crazy,’ ” says Eldridge, who, after contemplating it for a couple weeks, decided to take matters into her own hands.
This is how her first collection and collaboration with jeweler William Welstead were born, whose rings Lisa has been wearing for many years now. Each piece received the name of one of the women Eldridge admires: a green prasiolite has been named after Kate Winslet, a smoky brown quartz is dedicated to Lily Collins, and a blue iolite — to Elizabeth Taylor.
The collection goes on sale today, May 17, and can be found in London’s Dover Street Market.
