For those who make travel plans for their winter holidays, the annual Boutique Hotel Awards have made a list of the best hotels in the world. The choice for 2018 was made from 300 nominees in 80 countries.
First place went to Awarta Nusa Dua Luxury Villas & Spa in Bali, offering in addition to exceptional service a mind-blowing location featuring an amazing combination of contemporary design and Indonesian nature: bamboo lined paths, pools with waterfalls hidden in the thick of frangipani and over 100-year-old bonsai trees.

The hotel does not offer rooms, but instead has 14 private villas, with classification from one bedroom to the Royal Roselle Villa designed for a comfortable family vacation. Each villa offers Bulgari bathing amenities, 24-hour butler service, daily fresh fruit and complimentary breakfast for each guest.
Gastronomic delights of the hotel’s two restaurants—The Long Table with its Balinese and Western cuisine and Chinese haute cuisine restaurant Ru Yi—made the Awarta also winner of this year’s award for World’s Best Culinary Experience.
The top five includes Hotel TwentySeven in Amsterdam, which won World's Most Inspired Design Hotel, South Africa’s Akademie Street for the most romantic atmosphere, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort in British Columbia, Canada, which took the title for World's Most Sustainable Hotel, and Hotel Grand Windsor, New Zealand, named the best new hotel.
