Paris Fashion Week: Christian Dior Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Continuing the story of her cruise collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri invited fans of fashion house Christian Dior, currently entrusted to her, over to the hippodrome of Paris to present the new Christian Dior Spring 2019 Ready-to-Wear Collection.

The fashion narrative was built around the themes of grace and freedom, reflected in dancing, and kicked off with the performance of an Israeli dance company choreographed by Sharon Eyal.

“I wanted to speak about dance with a different point of view. I think that dance and fashion are very close, for they both speak about the body. Modern choreographers speak about freedom,” Maria Grazia Chiuri said after the show.

As a result, traditional corsets gave way to flowing silhouettes, some of which were for the first time in Dior’s history made from jersey draped into elegant neo-Gothic dresses. Macramé, tulle embroidered with beads and feathers, charming floral prints, a touch of acid-washed denim, and sandals and shoes, reminiscent of ballet slippers, created a feeling of a dance, in which models floated down the catwalk strewn with roses and daisies.
