Fortunately, couture collections are no longer all corsets and crinolines, giving haute couture connoisseurs the opportunity to choose a look not only for the red carpet, but also for more reserved high society events.
Designer Giambattista Valli went even further, offering a “younger" look at high fashion. “The idea of youth is important, because I have a very young customer. They give a new attitude to haute couture—or at least to my eyes,” Giambattista Valli shares the philosophy behind the new Fall 2018 Couture collection.
Giving preference this year to asymmetrical silhouettes, shortened in front and long in back, inspired by the video of the legendary Guns N’ Roses for "November Rain" (1991) and embodied in silk, chiffon, tulle, lace and even faux fur, Valli supplemented them with tops in the form of massive bows, bright feathers, cheeky minidresses and doublets, embellished with silver embroidery.
