New York fashion week is underway: some designers astonish with creativity, other remain faithful to the traditions not straying from cut and colours.
Oscar de la Renta Fashion Show, also called “Charmed Garden” has caught the critics’ eye. Designer’s duo Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia appear to be creative managers of the brand second year in a row. They pay a tribute to the past and accurately implement new elements.
While searching for ideas for the collection, the duet has spent many hours in the archives, looking through ancient historic models. As the designers say, they tried to stress on the recognizable silhouettes having developed herewith a fresh attitude to image creation.
Tender, feminine silhouettes which Oscar de la Renta is loved for were combined with typical youth trends: veil, hosiery, rock net and multiple but not abundant embroidery elements.
It seems like the legendary House of Fashion has returned on the Olympia of Glory after a long lasting “fever”: coats have become looser, blouses’ sleeves are made more sophisticated, simultaneously, flowery and animal prints have acquired metallic shade.
