In the modern world, the level of comfort, medicine and the general technological revolution has allowed to significantly increase the average life expectancy. While in the 50s it was considered an honor to live to the age of 65, today the aggregate figure is up twenty years.
However, it is important not only to make it to an advanced age, but also to keep the mind sharp and the body beautiful. World scientists, athletes and nutritionists have specifically developed a system that will help pass a milestone of 100 years without any health complications.
Diet comes first. Dr Valter Longo, biochemist and director of the University of Southern California’s Longevity Institute, has been carrying out research on the quality of nutrition for decades. During this time, he found that completely giving up meat, eggs and cow's milk from birth to at least 65 years old ensures the proper functioning of the digestive system and metabolic processes during the most active period of life. Consequently, the cells of the entire organism receive uninterrupted high-quality nutrition for growth and regeneration, that is, a natural process of rejuvenation.
Also, Dr Longo recommends cutting the number of meals to two full-fledged meals and one snack within a window of 12 hours or less every day. Such system allows to normalize blood pressure, lower the risk of cardiovascular and oncological diseases, and significantly reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
Include rosemary in your diet. Rosemary water or the habit of chewing on rosemary sprigs instead of chewing gum promotes better saturation of blood with oxygen, which is its main driving force and ensures the proper functioning of the brain.
Oral hygiene. As cliche as it may sound, healthy teeth and gums are key to maintaining great general health and longevity. Dentist Mark Hughes warns that plaque and tartar can lead to gum disease, which, in turn, according to the results of numerous studies, increases the likelihood of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Start breathing properly. If you have already found your favorite kind of sports and fitness, and are not ready to move on to yoga practice, then at least start with breathing. You can learn basic pranayama techniques in any yoga center, using mobile applications and video lessons. The ability to breathe properly, based on your own sensations, biological, daily and natural cycles, is an excellent way to prevent any physical and mental illnesses.
